Is Pooja Hegde Ignoring Telugu Film Industry?

It is an established predicament that the career span and screen life of actresses is much shorter when compared to that of male heroes and actors. The same appears to be the case with actress Pooja Hegde as well.

There was once a time when Pooja was one of the leading actresses in Telugu film industry, and she had multiple projects back to back. However, that is not even remotely the case now as she does not have a single Telugu big project in hand.

While the actress appears to be consciously staying away from the Telugu film industry, she is continuing to make an occasional film in Hindi, but staying selectively active in the Tamil film industry.

Pooja Hegde recently on boarded Tamil superstar Suriya’s Retro. This film is set for release on May 1, and this will mark her re entry into Tamil cinema after earlier attempt with Beast, which had Thalapathy Vijay in the lead role. She is also doing an item song in Lokesh Kanagaraj and Rajinikanth’s Coolie.

The point to be noted here is that Pooja appears to be consciously staying away from Telugu films in recent times as she had not signed a single Tollywood project in the last five years. But in this period, she had been doing occasional films in Hindi and Tamil.

This is a strange phenomena, considering the fact that Pooja Hegde first shot to fame with the Telugu film industry and enjoyed a very good position here. She had a pretty good following in the Telugu states and was a loved glamour doll here.

But at the end of the day, it is her choice to select what kind of films she wishes to be a part of, and considering her recent body of work, the creative choices made by Pooja are very clear.
