After COVID, a clear trend has become visible in Tollywood. For almost every film starring a top hero, the audience is able to predict the result much before the release date.
The verdict is practically written in the pre release content itself. From the teaser and trailer to the songs, promotional interviews and overall buzz, everything gives away strong signals about how the film is going to perform at the box office.
If the content looks routine, outdated or heavily dependent on star image without fresh storytelling, people sense it immediately. Social media discussions, advance bookings and even general public talk reflect that early judgment.
On the other hand, when the promotional material genuinely excites viewers with strong visuals, engaging music and promising storytelling, the positive momentum becomes clearly visible weeks in advance.
What is surprising is that not even one major star vehicle has truly broken this pattern in recent times. There has not been a single unexpected blockbuster that rose purely on word of mouth after weak promotions. Nor has there been a shocking disaster when the pre release material looked solid and promising.
This shows how aware and sharp the audience has become in the post pandemic era. Viewers are more selective, more critical and less influenced by blind star fandom. Today, content speaks louder than hype, and the box office outcome is often predictable long before the first show begins.
