Finally, Ustaad & Dhurandhar Broke February Blues
The whole of February didn’t yield any results at the box office, as many small films tested their luck but didn’t do well.
By: Shanaz B Syed | 20 March 2026 11:02 PM ISTDuring the season of Sankranti 2026, quite surprisingly, all the films that were released have received stunning revenues from the box office, irrespective of their critical performance and public talk. That's what festival seasons do to films, and there is a reason why many producers release their films during the big festival holiday season. However, after Sankranti 2026, Tollywood hasn't seen another innings where box office revenues will give full Josh to the industry.
The whole of February didn’t yield any results at the box office, as many small films tested their luck but didn’t do well. The likes of Suhas Hey Balwant, Sree Vishnu’s Vishnu Vinyasam, Santosh Sobhan’s Couple Friendly have been released in the theatres, some got good talk, but in the end, they haven’t posted any big numbers when it comes to collections. Continuing the same trend, even the month of March has no big hits so far, as most films have ended up as average performers.
However, Ustaad with this ₹37+ crores net from Telugu states alone on Day 1, and Dhurandhar with almost 10 crores gross from Telugu states with all versions, have set the box office registers ringing. It has almost ended the drought that was formed after Sankranthi 2026 films exited the scene. While ending the February blues with this terrific start, now these films should carry the momentum into Summer 2026, as other biggies are taking some time to arrive.
After Dhurandhar and Ustaad, we have the likes of Band Melam, Biker, Raakaasa, Dacoit, and Swayambhu hitting cinemas, before Ram Charan’s Peddi tsunami takes over from the end of April.
