Prabhas’ Not Rushing Sequels For Money’s Sake
Prabhas is reportedly not in a hurry to begin the sequels to his blockbuster films Kalki 2898 AD and Salaar. Instead, the actor wants to explore different kinds of cinema through projects like Fauzi and Spirit before returning to those successful franchises. The idea is to avoid rushing sequels merely for quick box-office gains and give them the time needed to match their scale and expectations. Meanwhile, Kalki 2 plans have reportedly faced a delay following Amitabh Bachchan’s illness, while Salaar 2 is expected to begin only after Prashanth Neel completes Dragon, reportedly by June 2027.

India’s biggest Superstar Prabhas was supposed to entertain his fans with “Fauzi” in December, but then the movie got pushed to another date somewhere in the first half of 2027. However, many are wondering why Prabhas is putting focus on films like Fauzi and Spirit, rather than delivering the sequels to his superhit movies like Kalki 2898 AD and Salaar.
Well, to be honest, even Prabhas wants to do sequels of these movies as promised, and definitely the sequels are going to be bigger in terms of scale and range. However, rushing to a sequel immediately gives the image that they are doing it for money’s sake. At least, they should wrap the sequels well in advance and release them with just months’ difference like a Dhurandhar, or they should make the sequels after a long gap like in Hollywood, where Spider-Man and Avengers series maintain a years-long gap between releases.
One thing is that Prabhas don’t want to rush these sequels first, as he wants standalone films to talk bigger first. Then he wants to deliver movies like Kalki 2 and Salaar 2, which obviously need a lot of time to carve out. Prabhas is not worried about some quick money he could make, but he wants his fans and movie lovers to experience different kinds of cinema from him rather than just the sequels of existing worlds.
While Kalki 2 shooting plans got disrupted due to Amitabh Bachchan’s fever in recent times, Salaar 2 will be started only after Prashanth Neel wraps Dragon by June 2027.
