Spirit Gets Real: Prabhas Gives Dates

For all the talk around delays, date shuffles, and globe-trotting breaks, it looks like things are finally moving where it matters for Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit, which features Superstar Prabhas in the lead.

Reports are coming that he will be joining the action rehearsals from May 9, with the actual shoot of the action blocks beginning from May 15. And this isn’t just another schedule update, because earlier there was criticism that Prabhas is not doing action sequences himself, and managing with dupes.

On the other hand, Spirit has been in a stop-start mode for a while. Between Fauzi shooting schedules and Kalki 2898 AD 2 schedules, Prabhas has been juggling multiple films at once. Though dates were allocated for Spirit in December 2026 itself, later Prabhas didn’t come to the sets due to other commitments.

Many are wondering why Prabhas would practice action when it comes to Spirit. Insiders say that this is pure Sandeep Reddy Vanga kind of stuff. And if Animal proved anything, it’s that he doesn’t treat action like filler, but fills the real rage and rhythm of the film with that. Which means these rehearsals are not just about stunts, they are some core scenes too.

In Spirit, Prabhas is playing a cop for the first time in his career, and will be seen in a Khaki avatar too. Initially planned for March 2027, that window is already slipping, and rumours have already started flowing that the film will hit cinemas in December next year.
