Prabhas Tangled in Nag Ashwin, Sandeep Date Drama
Sandeep has been very clear about his conditions. He wants bulk dates and a continuous schedule for Spirit.
By: Shanaz B Syed | 25 Aug 2025 12:27 PM ISTSuperstar Prabhas is one of the busiest stars in Indian cinema today, and with so many projects lined up, managing dates has become a drama in itself. On one side, Nag Ashwin is ready with the script for Kalki 2898 AD Part 2 and is waiting for Prabhas to lock the shooting schedules. On the other side, Sandeep Reddy Vanga has already pushed his foot forward by announcing Spirit, which he plans to start rolling from September. Both directors want Prabhas’ full attention, and that is where the clash begins.
Sandeep has been very clear about his conditions. He wants bulk dates and a continuous schedule for Spirit. Prabhas, respecting his vision, agreed to it. But the catch is that Spirit may take more than a year to complete. For Nag Ashwin, this waiting game is frustrating. His film is heavily dependent on VFX, and he feels that if he can get even a portion of dates in between, he can manage the graphics and production pipeline without delay.
The problem is that Sandeep does not agree. He believes that once Prabhas locks into his project, the look and feel should remain exclusive, and he does not want his star to appear in another film midway. That difference in approach has now created tension between the two filmmakers.
Caught in between, Prabhas has chosen silence. He does not want to hurt either director and is asking them to sort it out themselves. But one thing is clear, if no compromise is reached, Kalki 2 could face a long delay while Spirit takes priority. For fans, it looks like Prabhas’ date diary is turning into the hottest battleground in Telugu cinema.
