Prabhas Wax Statue Controversy, the Baahubali Backlash
This statement hints at potential legal action to have the statue removed.
By: Tupaki Desk | 26 Sep 2023 5:13 AM GMTPrabhas' recently unveiled wax statue at a museum in Mysore has stirred controversy among his fans and well-wishers due to its lack of resemblance to the 'Rebel Star' himself. Many enthusiasts have expressed their disappointment and are urging the authorities to remove the statue, which can only be identified as Prabhas in his iconic Baahubali attire
Meanwhile, Shobu Yarlagadda, the producer of the Baahubali franchise, has taken notice of the situation and clarified that the statue is not an officially licensed work.
He emphasized that all rights pertaining to the characters, story, and other elements of Baahubali are under his control, and no commercial activity involving the franchise can proceed without his explicit permission.
This statement hints at potential legal action to have the statue removed. It's worth noting that Prabhas already has a wax statue at Madame Tussauds in Bangkok, making him the first South Indian actor to receive such an honor.
The creation of that statue followed all necessary protocols, including permissions and measurements. Now, the community is waiting to see the steps Shobu Yarlagadda will take to address the controversy surrounding Prabhas' wax statue in Mysore.
