Box office: Pradeep Shakes It With Dude!

The Telugu audience were served with multiple options at the theatres this Diwali festival season and the most prominent title on the list is Dude. Now let us have a look at the box office performance of this Pradeep Ranganathan film.

Young sensation Pradeep Ranganathan’s latest film Dude released as a Diwali treat and opened to huge expectations. After scoring back-to-back hits like Love Today and Dragon, Pradeep has built a strong market across South India. With a big production house like Mythri Movie Makers backing this project, the buzz around Dude was high from the beginning.

After release, the film received a mixed response from the audience. While Pradeep impressed once again with his energetic screen presence and comic timing, some viewers felt the story wasn’t as impactful as his previous films Love Today or Dragon.

A few noted that the emotional depth and native flavor that worked earlier seemed slightly missing this time.

However, box office numbers tell a different story. Dude registered the biggest opening of Pradeep’s career. Trade reports suggest the film grossed around 22 Cr worldwide.

Comparing his earlier openings, Love Today did 4.33 crores, Dragon did 6 crores, and Dude at 22 crores. This clearly shows Pradeep’s rapid growth as a star as his box office openings have nearly tripled in volume and scale.

In terms of public reaction and word of mouth, Dude is weaker than Pradeep earlier two films. When it comes to box office numbers, it is triple to that of his previous films.

The real test now lies in sustaining this momentum during the festive weekend. The final result will depend on how well family audiences embrace the film in the coming days.
