Stand-up comedian Pranit More has once again apologised for his role in the controversial “Rs 370 Biryani” incident, which sparked widespread criticism on social media. The controversy began during one of his live shows in Gurugram, where a member of the audience made remarks that many people found offensive and inappropriate.

During the crowd interaction segment, a web developer named Himanshu Jangra shared an experience about spending Rs 370 on a plate of chicken biryani during a date. He then made comments suggesting that he expected sexual favours in return for the money he spent. A video clip from the event went viral online showing Pranit More laughing at the remarks instead of objecting to them.

The incident led to strong criticism from social media users, women’s groups, and public figures. Following the backlash, both Pranit More and Himanshu Jangra issued apologies. However, many people felt that the comedian’s initial apology was not enough.

In his latest statement, Pranit More accepted responsibility for his actions. He said, "I deserve this hate. That man said many derogatory things, but everyone was laughing so I also got carried away. This was a big mistake. I could have stopped him then and there and taken a stand. I gave him a platform and that escalated matters so fast. I want to apologise to all those who got hurt."

He also requested a second chance and promised to improve himself through his future work.

The controversy has attracted the attention of authorities. The National Commission for Women (NCW) summoned both More and Jangra, stating that their comments appeared to promote sexual coercion and non-consensual behaviour. Meanwhile, Jangra reportedly lost his job following the incident.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also commented on the issue. He said freedom of expression is important, but it should never be used to harm another person’s dignity. He stressed that entertainers and content creators must act responsibly and respect ethical boundaries.
