Why This Actor Exception From Rajamouli’s Unwritten Rule?

SS Rajamouli is known for making big films that take several years to complete. Many actors who work with him usually avoid signing or releasing other movies during the shooting period. Stars like Prabhas and Rana Daggubati followed this approach while working on Rajamouli's films. Because of this, fans often believe that actors should fully focus only on a Rajamouli project.

However, Malayalam star Prithviraj Sukumaran seems to be taking a different path. Even while working on Rajamouli’s upcoming pan-world film Varanasi, Prithviraj is continuing with his other professional commitments. This has surprised many movie lovers and become a hot topic in the film industry.

Recently, Prithviraj's film I, Nobody was released in theatres. The heist thriller received mixed reactions from audiences. Many viewers appreciated its technical quality and strong performances, while others felt that the second half of the movie was difficult to follow. The film was released in Malayalam, Telugu and Tamil languages.

Prithviraj is now preparing for the release of another film, Khalifa. The movie has completed shooting and is scheduled to hit theatres on August 20, 2026, during the Onam festival season. Like his previous film, Khalifa will also release in Telugu and Tamil along with Malayalam.

Apart from acting, Prithviraj is also busy as a producer. He recently announced a new project with National Award-winning director Krishand. The film will feature actor Sanju Sivram in an important role. This shows that Prithviraj is successfully managing acting, film production and multiple movie releases at the same time.

Many fans believe Prithviraj is one of the few actors who has been able to continue working on several projects while also being part of Rajamouli’s prestigious film. Whether this is a special exception or simply good planning is not officially known. Rajamouli and his team have not made any public statement about restrictions on Prithviraj's other films.
