During promotions, the conversation inevitably turned to the term "nepo kid," a sometimes-derogatory label given to actors who come from film families.
Prithviraj openly acknowledged his own background. "Yes, I am a nepo kid," he stated. "I got my first film, 'Nandanam' (2002), with the help of my father, producer and actor Sukumaran." However, he emphasized that family connections only provide the initial push. "The industry gave me that first opportunity, but it's my talent that has kept me going for all these years."
Prithviraj's point is well-taken. Many actors with film family backgrounds haven't been able to sustain careers. His own success story speaks volumes - Prithviraj is not just an actor today, but also a director, producer, and distributor, a testament to his well-rounded talent and hard work.
"The Goat Life," co-produced by Prithviraj himself, looks promising. Written and directed by Blessy with music by A.R. Rahman, it's a survival drama film starring Prithviraj and Amala Paul in the lead roles. The film will be released in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Kannada languages, showcasing Prithviraj's pan-Indian appeal.
