What started as a fan moment turned into a life-changing opportunity for actor Priyadarshi. At a recent media interaction in Hyderabad, the actor shared a heartfelt story that surprised many. “I once just wanted a selfie with Indraganti sir,” he laughed, “but he ended up offering me a whole film.” That unexpected call led to Saarangapani Jathakam, his latest outing set to hit theatres on April 25.

Coming off the success of Balagam and Court State vs a Nobody, Priyadarshi is now stepping into a quirky and philosophical world shaped by director Mohan Krishna Indraganti. Produced by Shivalenka Krishna Prasad, the film explores the consequences of blindly following horoscopes, but with a humorous twist. “We are not preaching what’s right or wrong,” Priyadarshi said. “We’re just holding a mirror to how beliefs, when imposed, can spiral into something unexpected.”

The film boasts a solid cast including veterans like Tanikella Bharani, Naresh, and Avasarala Srinivas. “Shooting the first scene with Indraganti sir is a memory I’ll always treasure,” Priyadarshi recalled, adding that the movie will also have early premieres so audiences can decide for themselves whether it’s worth their ticket. “This film is all about laughter and reflection,” he said. “If you enjoy it, come to the theatre. We’re not forcing anyone.”

But the road to the 25th won’t be easy. Saarangapani Jathakam is sharing its release date with Gymkhana, the Telugu dubbed version of the Malayalam blockbuster starring Naslen of Premalu fame. With Gymkhana already riding high after its Rs 70 crore run in Kerala, the box office face-off promises an interesting weekend. Still, Priyadarshi seems calm and hopeful. After all, from selfie to silver screen, his journey already feels like a hit story in the making.
