Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra is currently pursuing a career in Hollywood and now she is coming back to Indian cinema with Mahesh Babu and Rajamouli’s Varanasi.

Priyanka Chopra recently recalled her experience of working with Vijay in her debut Tamil film Thamizhan, describing the massive popularity the star enjoys among fans.

Speaking about the film, Priyanka said Thamizhan was her very first movie and it gave her the opportunity to share screen space with Vijay, who was already a huge star at the time. She remembered being amazed by the scale of admiration he received on set.

According to the actress, whenever Vijay was performing a dance sequence, hundreds and hundreds of fans would gather just to watch him. The overwhelming response from the crowd left a strong impression on her as a newcomer in the industry.

Priyanka said witnessing such devotion from fans made her realize the level of stardom Vijay commands. She described it as a “demi god feeling,” referring to the way audiences celebrate the actor whenever he appears.

The film Thamizhan, released in 2002, marked Priyanka Chopra’s entry into South Indian cinema before she went on to build a successful career in Hindi films and later in Hollywood.
