In a new episode of his Puri Musings series, the filmmaker opened up about something most of us carry without realizing ego. And this time, his words hit different.
Calling ego the “CEO of Overthinking Private Limited,” Puri explained how it slowly takes charge of our emotions. It reacts, it remembers old insults, and it whispers, “Don’t say sorry.” He admitted that this little inner voice can break friendships, split families, and even sabotage our happiest moments. But he didn’t just rant he reflected. “Yes, ego protects your pride,” he said, “but don’t let it run your life.”
He urged people to be more aware in their daily conversations, especially during heated moments or personal highs. According to Puri, ego loves drama it thrives in arguments and grows stronger when left unchecked. But he offered a simple idea: don’t fight it, just learn to keep it small. “A little ego keeps you warm. A big one burns everything,” he said.
On the work front, Puri is gearing up for a new film starring Vijay Sethupathi and Tabu, set to start rolling in June 2025. But with this talk, it’s clear he’s not just thinking about his next blockbuster he’s also thinking about the space between people and what gets in the way.
