However, gaining all the strength, resources and money, he carved out “Slumdog” with Vijay Sethupathi, and that film is struggling to see the light of the day. At this juncture, Puri Jagan has come with a musing on ‘arrogance’ and it impressed many.
Apparently, the director’s musing says: “When someone among us gets sudden success, their style, everything gets changed. He keeps his head high and looks us down. Not just outsiders, even family members also notice this behavioural difference. After looking at that, people come to an agreement that this guy is showcasing arrogance. But that guy never understands that. He feels that it’s confidence. All the arrogant feel their arrogance as confidence only. Confidence means the belief in our capabilities, but arrogance just keeps our ego up, even if the range of success is small. Sometimes arrogance comes from insecurity, as they tend to project themselves as bigger folks.”
He further adds, “We have to identify our mistakes, flaws, and weaknesses and learn from the criticism. As long as we have money and success, everyone keeps encouraging us, keeps praying to thousands of gods for our failure. Later, when we see failure, they all keep them away. But due to our arrogance, we feel that everyone cheated us,”
On a finishing note, he concludes, “Respect is not earned by force, but by our personality. Arrogance is a barrier, one that separates people from connections, understanding and progress”.
While the musing is fine, many are wondering what about his film.
