Puri Jagannadh, the man who’s known for his rollercoaster career, just got off a series of flops and is now navigating the podcast waters like a sailor trying to stay afloat. After the setbacks of films like Liger and Double iSmart, the director has dived into a new venture – his podcast, Puri Musings. And the message he’s delivering now isn’t about cinema, but something more fundamental: water.

In his latest podcast, Puri dropped some mind-boggling facts about water consumption. He explained how the average person drinks about two to three liters a day, but the real kicker? The indirect water usage. From the beef on your plate (15,000 liters for a kilo) to your daily cup of coffee (140 liters), we’re all consuming far more than we realize. Even your mobile phone? It’s got a hefty 12,000-liter price tag attached. And let’s not forget the water wasted when we shower for hours or flush the toilet for the umpteenth time.

Puri made an impassioned plea for water conservation, especially in India, where millions rely on water without giving much thought to where it comes from. He warned that if we don’t start harvesting water now, cities will soon face a dire shortage. The director even humorously compared the way we waste water to an elephant taking just a couple of sips at a pond, teaching us a lesson in mindful consumption.

As Puri ends his musings, one thing’s clear: if we don’t stop wasting water, we’ll end up in deep trouble. Maybe it’s time we all take a leaf out of his book and start saving some water... or at least stop flushing so much. After all, the only thing we’re flushing away faster than water these days is time.
