I Became Emotional After What Vijayendra Prasad Said: Puri Jagannadh

The pre-release event of 'Double Ismart' was held grandly in Warangal on Sunday. With Ustaad Ram Pothineni and dashing director Puri Jagannadh's combination giving 'Ismart Shankar' before, the expectations have increased a lot of 'Double Ismart'. The promotional material got a tremendous response and the pre-release event too generated a huge buzz as the crowd turned out in large numbers.

Puri Jagannadh gave an honest and sincere speech at the event. He said, “I'd like to share a phone call I received. When a film is a hit, many people call to congratulate and appreciate us. However, after I delivered a flop, I got a call from Vijayendra Prasad, who never usually contacts me. He asked if he could help him with something. I said, “Of course, sir, what is it?” He asked when my next film would be. I told him I hadn't thought about it yet. He requested that I tell him the story before I start. I understood what he was implying. He said, “I can't tolerate to see directors like you fail. You make small mistakes. So let me see whether I can do any corrections before you proceed.” I was very emotional hearing this. However, I didn't share the story with him. I took this film very close to my heart and made it with great dedication.”

Talking about his hero Ram, he stated, “When I think of Double iSmart, the one name that comes to mind is Ram Pothineni. The energy Ram brings is unparalleled. We can see Ram's energy when he just walks onto the sets. It doesn't just excite me, it energizes me. He brought that specialty to the character with the hairstyle, body language, Telangana slang, and more importantly, the attitude. We wouldn't enjoy the character as much, if all these elements aren't performed well by him. This movie is only possible because of Ram. He's an excellent dancer and a great performer. Without Ram, there wouldn't be iSmart Shankar.”

He also stated, “Sanjay Dutt is a hero with over 150 films to his name, and I'm a big fan of his. His presence in this film brought a new energy to the film. Likewise, Kavya performed well. Dancing next to Ram is no small feat. She learned all her dialogues in Telugu and delivered them flawlessly. Ali and I share a 30-year friendship and have worked together on many films. In this one, he played a character named Bokka. I had discussed this track with Ali 15 years ago, and he had already shown interest in it. Charmme is a major strength for our company. We faced tough times, and Vishu Reddy has been our pillar, always standing behind Charmme.”

Producer Charmme said, “I want to thank everyone for making all the songs such big hits. The trailer has also been well received. I'll share more after the film's release.” Hero Ram spoke highly about his director Puri Jagannadh. He mentioned, “In the industry, many people look up to Puri Garu when it comes to becoming a writer and director. I saved his name as Gun in my phone. Heroes are like bullets. You'll see how much force I bring when I'm in the hands of a "gun" director like Puri Jagannadh on August 15th. The thrill I get from working with Puri is unmatched. When I go to the set, my world changes completely. I get a burst of energy and start enjoying the work. I don't like calling him a legend. He is still one of the most inspiring directors in Telugu cinema.”

Talking about others, he said, “Mani Sharma felt more tension than anyone of us. Given the huge success of the audio for iSmart Shankar, he felt added pressure for Double ISMART. Generally, sequels come with expectations regarding the story. But for this film, the expectations extend to the audio as well. The expectations have been met with superb responses to the songs. Sanju Baba, it's an honor working with you. We couldn't imagine anyone else but you in this role. Kavya is a wonderful girl. She is very dedicated and committed. She learned her dialogues and delivered them in Telugu. It's an honor to work with Ali Garu. Charmme is a fighter.”

'Double Ismart' is hitting the big screens on 15th August and the confidence showcased by the movie's team is making the movie lovers very excited.
