Sukumar is one of the most established and reputed film makers in Telugu cinema, and he has returned to the big screens with Pushpa 2 featuring Allu Arjun. This film had its theatrical release yesterday, December 5, and it opened on a mighty note at the box office.

However, those who have watched the film have one major complaint, and this is regarding the nativity and sensibility factors associated with Pushpa’s character.

For instance, all through the course of the film, Pushpa Raj aka Allu Arjun keeps biting on tobacco products and gutka. While such things are rare to come by in the Telugu states, they are a major and integral part of the North Indian culture.

Also, there are certain over the top scenes in the film, including the loud climax, which don’t necessarily cater to the Telugu audience, but are bound to impress the mass loving Hindi rural belts.

Allu Arjun’s characterisation, his flashy clothing, the mass antiques, and the climax portion give a hint that Sukumar has clearly aimed at targeting the Hindi masses with these traits.

He must have known full well that the Telugu audience are not accustomed to something like this, considering his vast experience here already, but he anyway took the risk to get to the Hindi audience.

In accordance the openings and the weekend box office projections of the film in the Hindi, Ma belts are tremendously good. The Hindi theatrical returns of this film are bound to be on an exceptional note, and this is perhaps the reason why Sukumar took a calculated risk of going over top on more than one occasions in the film, just to appease the Hindi audience.

But at the same time, there is a positive management in terms of Telugu sensibilities as well, particularly the inter interval block is designed in such a way that the Telugu masses go bonkers in the theatres.
