Pushpa 2 Fiasco: A Warning Bell To Game Changer
If the makers of this film had any hopes on benefit shows, then these expectations must have evaporated by now after seeing what happened with Arjun and Pushpa.
By: Tupaki Desk | 14 Dec 2024 1:51 PM GMTOn one hand, the second part of Pushpa is going absolutely splendidly at the box office, and on the other hand, we have the highly sensational arrest and release of Allu Arjun. The kind of hiatus that happened at the Premier show of Pushpa 2 could have serious repercussions on the film industry.
In an extremely unexpected turn of events, Allu Arjun himself has been arrested in the stampede case involving a common lady named Revathi at the Sandhya theatre.
With so much happening against the premier show of the second part of Pushpa, it could very well be argued that the Telangana government is done and dusted with this show and benefit show culture.
Cinematography minister Venkat Reddy already announced that the government has decided not to permit special shows anymore, and this is a pretty much expected announcement.
What this also does is that it shuts the doors for Ram Charan’s Game Changer which is releasing on January 10. If the makers of this film had any hopes on benefit shows, then these expectations must have evaporated by now after seeing what happened with Arjun and Pushpa.
All the wild, the Telangana government was very lenient for the film industry when it comes to special shows and ticket prices. But considering what has unfolded over the last few days, it could well be argued that the government will be more stringent about the film industry in the days to follow.
Game Changer might find it hard to secure as many permissions for its release after considering the Pushpa 2 hiatus.
