Pushpa 2 Pre-Release Business Breaks Records

Pushpa 2 has created significant buzz even before its release. The first part of the film, Pushpa: The Rise, became a massive hit due to its strong characterization and Allu Arjun's remarkable performance, which earned him a National Award. The film also saw tremendous success in Northern markets.

Now, Pushpa 2: The Rule is making headlines with its pre-release business. Although the production house, Mythri Movie Makers, hasn't officially disclosed the figures, industry insiders reveal that the theatrical rights are valued at around Rs. 640 crores. In Andhra Pradesh and Telangana alone, the rights are priced at Rs. 220 crores. In Northern India, the film is expected to replicate the success of KGF: Chapter 2 and Baahubali 2, with the rights estimated at Rs. 200 crores. Karnataka, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu have the rights valued at Rs. 30 crores, Rs. 20 crores, and Rs. 50 crores, respectively. The overseas rights are valued at Rs. 120 crores.

This level of pre-release business is unprecedented for a Telugu film. In terms of non-theatrical deals, Pushpa 2 has secured a whopping Rs. 275 crores deal from Netflix, while music rights fetched Rs. 65 crores, and satellite rights Rs. 85 crores. Altogether, the movie’s total pre-release value stands at Rs. 1,065 crores.

For the film to be profitable, it needs to gross at least Rs. 1,300 crores at the box office, with distributors hopeful it might cross Rs. 1,500 crores. Directed by Sukumar, with Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil reprising their roles, Pushpa 2 is set to release worldwide on December 5th or 6th, 2024.
