Can Pushpa 2 Touch Mighty Baahubali 2?

Allu Arjun and Sukumar have made a grand come back to the big screens with the second part of Pushpa, which is going exceptionally well at the global box office. The makers have announced that the film has crossed in excess of ₹600 crores at the global box office.

Going by this trend, this new outing from the Pushpa franchise might be touching rupees thousand crores worldwide, gross by the time it completes its second weekend at the box office.

With rupees thousand crores mark on the horizon, it should not be long before Pushpa 2 would enter the elite list of Indian films which have touched thousand crores at the global box office.

This has now quickly led to a discussion that this new outing from the Pushpa franchise might pose a serious challenge to Baahubali 2. Needless to say, the Prabhas and Rajamouli film had crossed over ₹1700 crore at the global box office.

With Pushpa likely to complete rupees thousand crore mark by the time it completes its opening week, theatrical run, the discussion is now on whether or not, the film will actually be able to zoom past the Rs 1500 crore mark and possibly even the Rs 1700 crore mark.

The most important thing for the Allu Arjun film is that it is going absolute bonkers at the Hindi box office. It has completed nearly Rs 300 crore nett run in the opening weekend at the Hindi box office.

The box office projection, now for this new outing from the Pushpa franchise is such that it might be crossing over rupees thousand crore from the Hindi belt itself. If that is the case, it should not be too much of a problem for the film to gross another ₹500 to 700 gross in the domestic Telugu market and the rest of India market.

The overseas box office is also pretty impressive for the film as it has crossed over US$8 million, till now. If this momentum is continued, then Pushpa 2 might be the next big thing in Tollywood and also Indian cinema.
