By: Shanaz B Syed | 23 Dec 2025 1:45 PM ISTRecently, we have seen the likes of Megastar Chiranjeevi and Superstar Jr NTR from the Telugu film industry knocking on the doors of the country regarding the illegal misuse of their persona on social media. The latest to join the bandwagon is none other than handsome actor R Madhavan.
Seeking legal protection after fake AI-generated content and fabricated movie trailers featuring his face and name went viral online, drawing millions of views, R Madhavan knocked on the doors of the Delhi High Court. The court is now examining Madhavan’s plea to safeguard his personality rights against the misuse of his likeness on the internet.
In fact, with titles such as Shaitan Chapter 2 and Kesari 3, Madhavan’s movie trailers made with deepfake technology are going viral on YouTube at the moment. The actor approached the Court to stop the unauthorised use of his image. While the Delhi HC already granted an ad interim injunction protecting his personal rights, they have ordered the websites to remove the content and unauthorised merchandise.
Recently, Telugu stars Chiranjeevi and Jr NTR also got a similar response from the Court, and they are also seeking some legal action against some perpetrators. In the age of AI, it looks like many other actors will be walking to the Court requesting similar orders.
