After taking a break from films, she recently returned to the industry and shared the story of her secret romance. Raasi, who started as a child artist and later acted as a heroine and character artist in films and serials, had always kept her personal life private, until now.
Raasi revealed that her story began while working with Rajendra Prasad. She met Srinivas, the assistant director, and was drawn to his sensitive nature. “He was crying in a Srimantham scene opposite me. A boy crying is a very sensitive person,” she said. Friendship soon turned into playful teasing and emotional moments. One day, Raasi called him to ask if he would marry her,and he immediately said yes. Her family was shocked at first, but her mother eventually accepted him. They married within a month, on May 23, in a small home ceremony. Now, 20 years later, their bond remains strong.
The couple also shared amusing behind-the-scenes stories from the shoot. Raasi recalled how Srinivas once came to check on missing dialogues in her script before she had even started shooting. “I asked why you came that day, and he said, ‘I wanted to see a heroine like you up close,’” she laughed. Their playful banter and small acts of care during filming laid the foundation for a lasting relationship. Even when the dubbing for the film was ongoing, their romance was evident, and colleagues, including Rajendra Prasad, couldn’t help but notice.
Raasi’s candid sharing of her love story has quickly gone viral. Fans are amazed by her boldness and the fairy-tale nature of her romance, where a heroine proposed to her assistant director and they tied the knot within a month. The story reads like a film script itself, complete with playful moments, emotional depth, and a happy ending that has endured for two decades. It proves that sometimes real life can be just as magical as the movies.
