Incidentally, Malavika took part in a national media conclave, and she spoke about the prospect of South Indian film films and did not seem to enjoy it too much.
Malavika said South Indian films are very narrow when it comes to presenting the heroines as they are largely confined to 5 or 6 scenes in the entire film.
“For instance, we have the South Indian film industry, where the heroine is largely confined to a few scenes. Generally, we don’t get more than five or six scenes in a film that has a superstar in the lead role. If we are lucky, we might get two songs, but mostly, we get only one song.” The actress said.
The actress further added that this is a part of the sacrifice that needs to be made for commercial Hero films, as they come with their own set of perks like visibility and increased reach.
Malavika further pointed out that this is perhaps a piece of the puzzle of becoming a complete actress, as getting established with commercial films, gives actresses more market and it creates more leeway for better chances in the future.
It is evident that the actress is frustrated about the nature of offers that most heroines get in South Indian cinema and she certainly has a strong point to make.
