Why Did Raja Saab Miss #OG’s Premiere Record?

Ahead of Superstar Prabhas’ The Raja Saab release, many thought that the film might be setting up some new records and wiping out some of the newly created records in recent times. One such record is the collection achieved by Pawan Kalyan’s #OG, which was crafted by Sujeeth and released in September last year. But Raja Saab has fallen short of it, and here’s why it happened.

Back in September 2025, Pawan Kalyan’s #OG was riding high with superior craze, thanks to the amazing trailer of the film that’s quite slick, stunning, and with a terrific background score. That led to huge buzz around the movie, and with the governments of both the Telugu states allowing ticket hikes, the film collected a humongous ₹20-23 crores from the premieres themselves, from the global box office.

In the case of Raja Saab, however, that didn’t happen. One thing is that the hype to buy premiere show tickets en masse is not as intense as #OG, and other thing is that the Telangana government hasn’t permitted Premiere Show hikes. This led to Raja Saab being unable to reach the premiere show collection of #OG.

Going by Telangana High Court’s serious comments on State Government regarding ticket hikes, it looks like beating #OG Premiere Show collection is not possible anytime soon, unless the likes of SS Rajamouli convince the Court to allow a hike for a massive budgeted movie like Vaaranaasi.
