SS Rajamouli Reveals Varanasi Shoot Update To James Cameron

During a recent interaction, Rajamouli revealed that the film has already been in production for one full year and still needs more time to be completed. He clearly said, "We’ve been shooting for a year and it will take another 7–8 months to finish it." This update has increased curiosity and excitement among movie lovers as the film would release within one or two years.

Cameron who is famous for directing the visually stunning Avatar series, recently connected with Rajamouli through a video call. The interaction took place after Rajamouli was shown the third part of the Avatar franchise, titled Avatar: Fire and Ash which is scheduled to release on December 19.
Sharing his happiness, Rajamouli said, "Watching ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ before everyone else was a wonderful experience." He praised the visuals, characters, and storytelling, adding that he felt like "a small child sitting in a theatre." Rajamouli also highlighted the emotional depth of the film and said the internal struggles of the lead character were shown beautifully. He proudly stated, "The Avatar franchise is a benchmark for cinema."
During the friendly conversation, James Cameron showed great interest in Rajamouli’s Varanasi project. He asked about the film’s progress, to which Rajamouli explained the ongoing schedule. Cameron then excitedly asked, "Can I come and watch the shoot on the Varanasi set?" This made Rajamouli extremely happy.
Responding warmly, Rajamouli said, "Your visit would thrill not just our ‘Varanasi’ team, but the entire Indian film industry." Adding a fun touch, Cameron joked, "If you’re planning any scenes with tigers, let me know. I will pick up the camera and will shoot a few scenes.”
Meanwhile this magnum opus starring Mahesh Babu features Prithviraj Sukumaran as the antagonist. M.M. Keeravani is scoring the music. Priyanka Chopra Jonas joined as the female lead and Prakash Raj is reported to play father character for Mahesh Babu in the film.
