Water Tankers Issue: Mahesh-Rajamouli Moves To Varanasi

Well, it looks like the reality of Summer is not only hitting the films that are releasing in theatres, but also the movies that are currently under production. In some posh localities of Hyderabad like Manikonda, Narsingi, and Gandpet, already, people are dependent on almost two water tankers a day for a 15-flats standalone apartment to survive. Amidst this, the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Board refused to entertain even Superstar Mahesh and legendary filmmaker Rajamouli when they demanded 150 water tanks. That’s a week ago. The shooting of Superstar Mahesh and legendary filmmaker SS Rajamouli’s Varanasi was supposed to happen at a specially constructed set of the temple city in Hyderabad, where the makers wanted to shoot some underwater sequences where the set gets submerged. But with 150 water tankers not given, reports are coming that the makers want to shoot the same in Uttar Pradesh, at places like Varanasi and Prayagraj, where the water issue is not so strong. As the likes of Mahesh, Priyanka Chopra, and other actors are in Hyderabad now to shoot for this underwater sequence, the makers don’t want to incur huge losses by waiting for water here. Hence, they want to quickly shift the shooting to Uttar Pradesh, say reports.

The makers of Varanasi will now be making some new sets in Varanasi city and Prayagraj city to facilitate their shooting. On the other hand, as the release date of Varanasi got locked for April 7th, 2027, Rajamouli is said to be hellbent on wrapping the shooting schedules on time at any cost, so that he would not miss out the release date as promised. However, whether only Part 1 of the film will be released or the whole film will be released on this date is yet to be clarified. But then, the talk of #GlobeTrotter and #TimeTrotter hitting cinemas as two parts is not ruled out.
