Why Everyone Opposed Rajamouli During Simhadri Shooting?

Director S. S. Rajamouli recently shared an interesting memory about his blockbuster movie Simhadri. The film, released in 2003, became a huge success and changed the careers of both Rajamouli and Jr NTR. Even today, Simhadri is remembered as one of the biggest films in Telugu cinema.

Rajamouli spoke about the movie during an event held in France. While talking about the film, he revealed that one important scene in Simhadri was strongly opposed by his own team during the script discussions.

The scene is about the hero, played by Jr NTR, shooting Bhanuchander's character. In the movie, Bhanuchander is shown as a good person. However, he is carrying a suitcase with a bomb and is about to board a train. To save the lives of thousands of innocent passengers, the hero is forced to shoot him.

Rajamouli said that his family members are always involved in his story discussions. They usually give suggestions before the script is finalized. During the discussions for Simhadri, almost everyone felt that the audience would never accept a hero killing a good man. They believed the scene could create a negative opinion about the hero.

However, Rajamouli strongly believed that this scene was the emotional heart of the movie. He felt it created a powerful conflict and showed the hero's difficult decision. According to him, the emotional impact of that moment was very important for the story.

Rajamouli said that while everyone else was against the scene, he stood alone and decided to keep it in the film. He trusted his instincts and believed the audience would understand the emotion behind the hero's action.
