SS Rajamouli’s upcoming film Varanasi continues to create huge excitement across India. Starring Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra in the lead roles, the film is one of the most awaited projects in Indian cinema.

Recently, several reports claimed that the budget of Varanasi had gone far beyond expectations. However, sources connected to the project have strongly denied these rumors. According to them, the news about the film’s budget going overboard is completely baseless and has no truth in it.

The team is reportedly not worried about such speculation. Instead, everyone involved in the project is fully focused on completing the film as planned. Despite the ongoing discussions online, the makers have chosen to remain silent and continue their work without any distractions.

Interestingly, the film is already creating a massive buzz in the trade market. Industry sources say that top distributors from different parts of India are showing great interest in acquiring the film’s theatrical rights. In fact, a bidding war is said to be taking place, with several distributors competing to secure the rights at record-breaking prices.

While the makers have not officially commented on these reports, the strong demand highlights the confidence that the industry has in Rajamouli’s vision and the film’s box-office potential.

Adding to the excitement, a photo from the sets of Varanasi recently surfaced online. The image reportedly showed a large blue-screen setup surrounded by detailed rock formations and cave-like structures. According to reports, the set is being used for the much-talked-about Ugrabhatti Caves sequence featured in the film.

The sequence was previously teased through character posters and promotional material. Reports suggest that the scene will play an important role in the story and will feature grand visuals supported by extensive VFX work.

Rajamouli has also reportedly used IMAX cameras to capture the film’s large-scale visuals. The movie is currently progressing at a steady pace and is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on April 7, 2027.
