Senior actor Rajendra Prasad recently shared his views on the evolving definition of a hero in Indian cinema. Speaking at the pre-release event of the

film Hari Katha, he noted that the traditional portrayal of heroes has undergone significant changes. Referencing current trends, he commented, "In today's films, a sandalwood thief is shown as a hero.(Vaasevado Chandam Donga, Vaasu Kuda Hero)" While he did not directly name the movie Pushpa, it was clear he referred to the character of Pushpa Raj, played by Allu Arjun who smuggles red sandalwood.

However it is being heard that Rajendra intensity is to just explain how in earlier movies, heroes were portrayed as positive characters like Rama and negative characters were typically punished by the climax. His main intension is to just highlight the broader shift in storytelling and hero characterization. But this is being spread in negitive way in social media.

Rajendra Prasad and Allu Arjun share a warm relationship, having worked together in movies like Julayi and Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo. So, while few are unnecessarily taking dig at his comment, many fans believe his remarks were meant to observe changing trends in cinema rather than criticize specific films. The evolving hero character, blending flaws and strengths, has become a reflection of modern audiences’ tastes.
