Hurdles Cleared For Rajnikanth’s Film, But…

Superstar Rajnikanth’s younger daughter Soundarya Rajnikanth has carved up with the movie, “Kochadaiyaan”, featuring the CG-realistic character of her father in the lead, while Deepika Padukone played the female lead. This motion-capture technology movie hasn’t worked out at the box office, but then the disputes surrounding the movie are refusing to die.

As the AI-enhanced version of Rajni’s Kochadaiyaan is heading for a re-release, a case is filed in the Chennai High Court by an advertising agency that earlier filed a case against Rajni’s wife Latha for issuing bounced checks. The issue is related to not repaying the agreed ₹6.2 crores regarding the production and promotions of Kochadaiyan. Despite Rajnikanth charging more than ₹100 crores per movie, and the film’s legal battle going on since 2015, the actor would have easily cleared it. Many are wondering if Rajnikanth is not even worried about the losses his films incurred.

Meanwhile, the High Court has stated that the old dues case can’t stop the release of the AI version of the movie; however, it asked the complainants to proceed with the other case as per the schedule. That means the Kochadaiyaan AI version will be hitting cinemas as planned, but the doubts on the film’s uncleared dues have just doubled.
