Major Twist: Rakul Preet Turns Yash’s Sister

Beautiful actress Rakul Preet Singh is all over the social media timelines, thanks to her spicy glamour that’s being thrown in the form of songs, for the upcoming film Pati Patni Aur Woh Do. However, all these glamorous acts in Bollywood are continously landing her in films, one after the other.

The latest buzz from Bollywood circles is that Rakul has joined the sets of Nitesh Tiwari’s prestigious Ramayana and will be seen as Shurpanakha. In simple terms, that means Rakul will be playing the sister of Kannada superstar Yash, who is portraying Ravana in the magnum opus. Interestingly, Rakul’s role is not some blink-and-miss glamorous appearance. Shurpanakha is one of the most crucial character, who desires on Rama’s brother Lakshmana, and then triggers the whole lot of things in Ramayana.

However, for years, Rakul has largely done only those films that are glamorous commercial entertainers. Whether in Telugu, Tamil or Hindi, she has played as a stylish urban girl with lots of skin show rather than a performance-heavy actress. In fact, throughout her career, Rakul never delivered a role that showcased extraordinary acting depth. So, would she be apt for this role in Ramayana? With Kajal Aggarwal already playing the role of Ravana’s wife Mandodari in the movie, it looks like the whole of Ravana’s family cast is quite gorgeous.

While Ranbir Kapoor plays Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi essays Sita in the movie, and amidst all these stalwarts of acting, Rakul has to really prove herself.
