By: Shanaz B Syed | 12 Jun 2026 3:12 PM ISTRam Charan starrer Peddi released on June 4th, with premieres a day before, and the movie faced both praises and brickbats from many sides. However, the Charan and Janhvi Kapoor starrer directed by Buchi Babu Sana of Uppena fame has created the unthinkable at the box office, as the film amassed more than ₹330 crores gross already. But some trade observers say that the high collection could be attributed to the ‘hiked’ ticket prices.
In both the Telugu states, Peddii managed to secure the best hikes possible, with more than ₹150 per ticket hike allowed in multiplexes and ₹100 per ticket hike over the existing base rates allowed in single screens. But. then, from June 13th, the ticket prices are returning to normal as “Peddi” has already enjoyed the 10-day hike allowed by the governments of the two Telugu states. That means whatever Peddi is going to make will be a little lower, and that will slow down the collections. But if there is real good curiosity about the film among the audience, then many more audience members might turn up to theatres due to the lowered ticket prices. That would surely get more collections. Will that happen?
Currently, the makers of Peddi have officially claimed that the Ram Charan-starrer is the highest-grossing South Indian movie of 2026 so far. That means, Peddi has overtaken both Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Mana Shankara Varaprasad Garu, Mohanlal’s Drishyam 3 and Suriya’s Karuppu as well. Well, if Peddi has to become more meaningful and safe for all the stakeholders, then the film should collect more than ₹100 crores, other than the one it has already collected.
