Ram Charan’s much-awaited pan-India film Peddi has opened to a fantastic response from audiences. Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, the action sports drama was one of the most anticipated releases of the year. Even before its official release, the movie has already made headlines by creating a new record in Karnataka.

According to early box office reports, Peddi earned around ₹3.02 crore from its premiere shows in Karnataka. This is now the highest premiere collection ever recorded by a Telugu film in the state. The achievement has become a major talking point among movie lovers and fans on social media.

Before Peddi, the top spot was held by OG with ₹2.72 crore from premiere shows. The second position now belongs to OG, while The Raja Saab stands in third place with ₹2.61 crore. Pushpa 2 collected ₹2.55 crore, and Hari Hara Veera Mallu earned ₹1.47 crore from premieres in Karnataka.

The strong opening of Peddi was expected because the film carried huge buzz before release. The movie is set against a village backdrop and combines sports, action, and emotional drama. These elements attracted audiences across different regions.

Another major reason for the film’s success in Karnataka is the presence of Kannada superstar Shiv Rajkumar in a key role. His popularity helped the movie gain additional attention in the state. Reports suggest that premiere shows in Bengaluru and other major centers witnessed excellent occupancy.

Ram Charan already enjoys a strong fan following in Karnataka thanks to his previous successful films. The promotional content, songs, trailers, and pre-release events also increased excitement among moviegoers. Advance bookings were extremely strong, which played an important role in helping the film achieve record-breaking premiere numbers.

The movie stars Janhvi Kapoor as the female lead. Apart from Ram Charan and Shiv Rajkumar, the film also features Jagapathi Babu, Divyenndu Sharma, Boman Irani, and Ravi Kishan in important roles. Music is composed by Oscar-winning AR Rahman, while cinematography is handled by R. Rathnavelu.
