Actor Ram Charan and his wife Upasana Kamineni Konidela recently met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi to discuss the growing success of the Archery Premier League (APL). The couple praised the Prime Minister for his continuous efforts in promoting health, fitness and traditional Indian sports.

After the meeting, Ram Charan shared his thoughts on Instagram by expressing gratitude towards PM Modi. He wrote, “Honoured to meet our Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji on the success of the world’s first Archery Premier League, led by Anil Kamineni Garu.”

Ram Charan who has recently shown interest in archery, said that the Prime Minister’s passion for sports will help preserve India’s sporting legacy. He added, “The Prime Minister’s guidance and passion for sports will help us promote the legacy of archery worldwide. Congratulations to all the athletes. We hope more people will join this sport for better mental and physical health.”

Upasana Kamineni also shared her perspective on the link between sports and wellness. She wrote, “I’m not an athlete, but from a healthcare background, I know the power of sport for physical and mental well-being. As a nation, we must heal through sport and our Prime Minister’s vision will make this a reality. I’m a true fan sir.”

She also congratulated her father Anil Kamineni for his key role in organizing the Archery Premier League and appreciated Ram Charan for his active involvement in the initiative.

Launched in 2025 by the Archery Association of India, the Archery Premier League has become the country’s first franchise-based archery competition. It includes six teams Prithviraaj Yodhas, Mighty Marathas, Kakatiya Knights, Rajputana Royals, Chero Archers, and Chola Chiefs. Each team features four male and four female archers, competing in both recurve and compound formats.
