By: Priya Chowdhary Nuthalapti | 27 Oct 2026 2:53 PM ISTThe upcoming film Ramayana is getting positive signs ahead of its theatrical release. The film is expected to hit theatres on November 5, 2026. Interestingly there may not be any major film competing with it during its release period. This could give the makers a big advantage at the box office.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana is one of the most awaited Indian films. The movie stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana. The film is not limited to Hindi-speaking audiences. Ranbir Kapoor has a strong following in North India, while Sai Pallavi is popular among South Indian movie lovers. Yash also has a huge fan base, especially after the success of the KGF films. His presence is expected to attract audiences from Karnataka and other states.
The combination of these stars could help Ramayana reach a wider audience across India. The film is being made on a massive scale, and expectations are high regarding its visuals, story and overall cinematic experience.
Another interesting development concerns the Hollywood film Godzilla Minus Zero. The film was expected to release in India on November 6, just one day after Ramayana. However, reports suggest that its Indian release could be postponed because of limited IMAX screen availability. There is no official confirmation about the postponement yet.
If Godzilla Minus Zero does not release as planned, it could be an additional advantage for Ramayana. Both films are expected to attract audiences interested in watching movies on premium large screens. Without a direct clash, Ramayana may get more opportunities to screen in IMAX theatres.
A strong opening is important for a film made on such a large budget. With limited competition, the movie could attract more viewers during its first weekend. However, its final box office performance will depend on audience response, reviews and word of mouth.
