Indian cinema has seen many big-budget spectacles over the years, but nothing comes close to the scale of Ramayana. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, this magnum opus starring Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram and Yash as Ravana is set to redefine cinematic grandeur. Reports suggest that the film’s total budget will be around ₹2000 crore making it the most expensive Indian film ever made.

To understand how huge this is, here’s a look at the Top 10 most expensive Indian films ever made:

1. Kalki 2898 AD – ₹600 crore

2. RRR – ₹550 crore

3. Adipurush – ₹550 crore

4. 2.0 – ₹550 crore

5. Pushpa 2: The Rule – ₹500 crore

6. The GOAT – ₹380 crore

7. Brahmastra – ₹350 crore

8. Game Changer – ₹350 crore

9. Coolie – ₹350 crore

10. War 2 – ₹350 crore

While Kalki 2898 AD currently tops the list, Ramayana will easily overtake it once production begins in full swing. The film is expected to be made in three parts, featuring advanced visual effects, world-class production design, and a large-scale international release.

Interestingly, even SSMB29, director Rajamouli’s next global adventure film with superstar Mahesh Babu, is reported to have a whopping ₹1200 crore budget. However, Ramayana’s cost surpasses it by a wide margin, making it the most ambitious Indian project ever attempted.

Fans are eagerly waiting to see Ranbir Kapoor and Yash share the screen, while Sai Pallavi plays Sita.
