The much-awaited film Ramayana is set to arrive on the big screen with a slightly different release plan for India and international markets. The film, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana.

Producer Namit Malhotra has now cleared the confusion around the film’s release dates. According to his latest comments, Ramayana will have its international release on November 6, 2026. However, audiences in India will get to watch the film on November 8, during the Diwali festival.

The two-day difference is mainly because of the international release schedule. The overseas markets generally follow the Friday release pattern. November 6 falls on a Friday, making it suitable for the international premiere. In India, the makers are planning to bring the film during the Diwali celebrations on November 8.

The decision is expected to create huge excitement among movie lovers, especially because Ramayana is being presented as a large-scale cinematic project. The makers are also working on taking the story to audiences across the world.

Namit Malhotra recently spoke about the response to the film’s promotional material. He said that the trailer received more than one billion views within five days of its release. He expressed happiness over the response and said that the team wants to present Ramayana to a global audience.

The film also has an international partnership with Sony Pictures, which is involved in its worldwide distribution. The makers are hoping to make Ramayana a major Indian film with a strong presence in international markets.

Malhotra was also asked whether the film is being made with an Oscar in mind. He explained that winning an Academy Award is not the main goal of the project. His bigger aim is to first connect the film with Indian audiences and then introduce Indian culture and storytelling to people around the world.

Ramayana is planned as a two-part film series. The first part is scheduled to release in India during Diwali 2026, while the second part is expected to arrive during Diwali 2027.
