The film is already creating a lot of discussion at the domestic circles. Coming to the topic now, the discussion has already started about the prospect of Ramayan, capturing the South Indian market and the possibility of the same.
The crucial point that must be noted, here is that Ramayan might be one of the costliest projects in Indian cinema, but it still happens to be a Hindi film in terms of marketing and projection. Not many South Indian audience are excited about this project in the first place. The presence of Kannada superstar, Yash might bring some market in Karnataka, but beyond that this film is still an alien product.
Had the makers gone for a bigger South Indian Hero for a crucial role things could have been completely different. Preferably they could have gone for a Telugu star, as this could have opened a new markets for this film.
But whatever might be the reason, and whatever done is done, this film will now need excellent marketing in South India. The unit will have to continuously tour South Indian cities and build an anticipation on this film.
The point of difference here could be the fact that Prabhu Sriram sentiment is still very strong in South India and with proper marketing and advertisement this film can capture the same.
