Mumbai-Bhopal-Delhi: How’s Peddi’s Penetration?
It’s just 5 days to go for the rustic rural drama Peddi, featuring Mega Powerstar Ram Charan, to hit the cinemas.
By: Shanaz B Syed | 29 May 2026 6:29 PM ISTIt’s just 5 days to go for the rustic rural drama Peddi, featuring Mega Powerstar Ram Charan, to hit the cinemas. After a couple of postponements from March to April, finally the film has landed in June, locking the 4th of the month as the release date. As the IPL is getting over by that date, and the southwest monsoon is most likely to say ‘hello’ to the Telugu states as well, it’s a complete positive sign for Peddi to create a storm at the box office when it comes to pulling audiences to theatres.
In Tollywood, this is all fine, as Peddi definitely rakes in huge numbers even without much publicity. Fans in the Telugu states and general movie lovers are also looking for the right commercial film to enjoy, as the whole of Summer went pretty dry. However, the big question on everyone’s mind is, will the film get the same openings in North India as well? Already, the makers hosted a big live-music event in Bhopal, then two press meets, one in Mumbai and one in Delhi, to market the film more widely. Currently, the songs in the Hindi version are going well, but the penetration power of the content is yet to be known.
Only by going by the footfalls for the first three days of release, Peddi’s Hindi penetration will be properly understood. For now, it looks like the film is getting massive theatrical positioning already, and if the word of mouth comes out good, then it might do wonders like Pushpa and Pushpa 2 at the box office. Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, Peddi has attraction factors like Janhvi Kapoor, Divyendu Sharma and composer AR Rahman even for the North audience. June 4th will clarify things.
