Director Ramesh Dembala’s latest movie Laggam has generated excitement with its teaser and trailer. The film, rooted in Telangana culture, promises to showcase the region's unique emotions and traditions. In a recent interview, Dembala shared insights into the making of Laggam and his vision for the project.

Ramesh Dembala, known for his directorial work in Bheema Devara Pally Branchi, spoke about the inspiration behind his latest project. He said, “After completing Bheema Devara Pally Branchi, I thought a lot about what kind of story I should do next. The story of Laggam was born from those thoughts. Laggam in Telangana culture is tied to many emotions, and it is very special. I wanted to bring those emotions and the culture to the big screen.”

Dembala explained that the film is a reflection of his own experiences and upbringing. “I grew up around these traditions and wrote many characters into the story,” he said. “When I mentioned the title Laggam, many people were surprised by it. This movie is a must-watch for expatriates, software engineers, and especially fathers with daughters. The emotions in this story are like a painting.”

Set against the backdrop of Telangana, the movie showcases a cast of characters who speak in the local dialect. Legendary actor Rajendra Prasad plays a key role in the film. According to Dembala, Prasad would often remark on set, saying, “This movie will be as memorable as a wedding album.” The film features an ensemble cast, including well-known actors like Sai Ronak, Pragya Nagra, Rajendra Prasad, and Saptagiri, among others.

Speaking about the challenges of working with such a large cast, Dembala shared, “It was a challenge every day, but I knew from the beginning that I wanted to end the movie with a powerful truth. The climax of the movie takes the story to a whole new level.”

The director is confident that the movie will leave a lasting impression on the audience. “This Laggam will feel like a feast on a banana leaf,” he said, comparing it to the grand traditional feasts often served during weddings in Telangana. “It will make people think about how two families should approach the most important event in life – a wedding. The story will entertain while also delivering a meaningful message.”

Produced by Venugopal Reddy under Subishi Entertainments, Laggam is set to release worldwide on the 25th of this month. The director invited audiences to experience this heartfelt film, saying, “This is your family’s Laggam... Save the date.” With music by Charan Arjun and background score by Mani Sharma, the movie is expected to be an emotional and cultural treat for viewers.
