He’s always been the kind of guy who moves between worlds without making much noise about it. Rana Daggubati didn’t just act in films; he built connections that stitched industries together. SS Rajamouli once said it was Rana who took Baahubali to Bollywood and brought Karan Johar on board, a move that changed everything. His Hindi journey actually began long before that, back in 2011 with Dum Maaro Dum alongside Abhishek Bachchan. Then came Department with Amitabh Bachchan, a blink-and-miss cameo in Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, and a full-on action ride in Akshay Kumar’s Baby.

And now, Rana’s switching sides of the camera. He’s taking his production house, Spirit Media, into Bollywood. Ahead of Kaantha, his period thriller with Dulquer Salmaan, he dropped a surprise at the film’s promo event. Spirit Media will produce a film starring Manoj Bajpayee, based on Aravind Adiga’s novel Last Man in Tower. The movie’s to be directed by Ben Rekhi and has a pretty interesting global team working behind it.

Spirit Media isn’t new, though. It’s been around since 2005, quietly building stories and networks. Over time, it’s become a space for all sorts of creative stuff, production, talent management, even digital content. Lately, the company’s been backing some unusual projects like Dark Chocolate, Psyche Siddharth, and Premante. Looks like they’re betting big on stories that aren’t afraid to cross borders.
