Rana Opens Up On 'Rana Naidu' in Comparison to 'Animal'

Rana Naidu, the Netflix series starring Rana Daggubati and Venkatesh Daggubati, took the streaming platform by storm. A massive success, the show is already confirmed for a second season.

However, Rana recently revealed the series' initial struggles. In a new interview, he compared the audience reception of Rana Naidu to the recently released film 'Animal'. "There was criticism for Rana Naidu," he admitted, "but after Animal, people seemed to find my character much more tame! I'm always drawn to compelling stories, and Rana Naidu offered a unique family drama within the gangster genre. We knew it would push boundaries, but the story resonated with me, so I jumped on board."

A remake of the American series 'Ray Donovan,' Rana Naidu marked the first on-screen collaboration between Rana and his uncle Venkatesh. The action-packed crime drama shattered viewership records on Netflix, leading to a swift green light for season two.
