Right from the early 90s, Bollywood has been taken over by the 3 Khans. The trio of Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Aamir Khan had a monopoly over Hindi cinema for a good three decades now. Even till date, they are the ones who are making and breaking the records. There is a dialogue in 'Pathaan' where Shah Rukh and Salman break the third wall and say that the youngsters don't have what it takes and they should continue doing this despite getting old.

Even big stars like Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgn never constantly competed with them. Despite their craze, their movies never got the money that the films of Shah Rukh or Salman collected. Aamir is known for his perfection and selection of different scripts. There was a period when he used to arrive every three years and break his own records with movies like 'Ghajini', '3 Idiots', 'PK' and 'Dangal'. Salman Khan has a huge craze among the masses and his movies always collected around 200-300 crores even if they were average.

SRK is the face of Indian cinema even today and his following is unmatched. He took a break for 4 years and his craze hasn't dropped a bit. He becomes the only hero to deliver two 1000 crore films within the span of a year. There was a time when Hrithik Roshan was considered as the next big thing. Though he still has a lot of craze, Hrithik's poor script choices have let him down a lot. But it looks like Ranbir is going to break this monopoly soon.

Considered as the lover boy/chocolate boy of Bollywood due to his looks and movies at the beginning of his career, Ranbir Kapoor is always known to have tremendous acting potential. He possesses a lot of following among the youth and he is slowly turning himself into the next genuine 'Star' of Bollywood. The title card in 'Animal' says that he is 'Superstar' and the collections stand as proof of it. His 'Sanju' collected around 350 crores five years back and his 'Brahmastra' minted over 400 crores despite the bad talk. Now, 'Animal' has already crossed the 500 crore mark and the collections are showing no signs of stoppage.

The action hero avatar of Ranbir has taken everyone by surprise and he pulled off the Vanga hero's attitude with a lot of ease and perfection. He is 41 years old now and many are stating that he is the next big hero after the Khans. With Aamir slowly fading away and Salman not getting huge collections like before, he is in line to be the only hero to give competition to Shah Rukh in the coming days. All he needs is good scripts that bring out the actor in him and showcase him in a larger-than-life manner. Let us see how things turn out for Ranbir Kapoor in the next few years.
