Along with acting, the makeover of the lead actor plays a major role in creating interest among movie lovers. Telugu cinema has already seen the success of biopics like Mahanati, where Keerthy Suresh’s transformation into legendary actress Savitri became one of the biggest talking points. Now, all eyes are on Rashmika Mandanna as she takes on another challenging real-life character.
Rashmika is playing legendary Carnatic singer M.S. Subbulakshmi in the upcoming pan-India biopic MS – A Legacy On Screen, directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri. The film will explore different stages of Subbulakshmi’s life and career.
The latest Rashmika pictures going viral have created more curiosity about the project. In one of the pictures, she is seen in a traditional saree with jewellery and a simple hairstyle. The jewellery has especially caught the attention of fans.
A few days ago, Rashmika also shared pictures from an event related to the film. The actress is also putting serious effort into the role. According to the report, she is undergoing intensive Carnatic vocal training to bring more authenticity to her performance. The makers had also considered whether Rashmika could sing for the film herself, making her musical preparation even more important.
The film has already attracted attention because of the combination of Rashmika and director Gowtam Tinnanuri. Anirudh Ravichander is also composing the music, which is expected to be an important part of a story centred on a legendary singer.
After the success and lasting impact of Mahanati, expectations are naturally high for another Telugu-linked biopic. Rashmika’s makeover, jewellery, sarees and traditional appearance are now becoming major talking points even before the film’s release. The big question is whether Rashmika can completely transform herself into M.S. Subbulakshmi and create another memorable biopic performance.
