Star Actor's Daughter Chooses Army Life Over Cinema

Actor and politician Ravi Kishan’s daughter Ishita Shukla has chosen a career that is very different from her father’s film journey. While she could have easily entered Bollywood because of her family background, Ishita developed a strong interest in the armed forces and decided to serve the country.

Ishita first attracted attention through her association with the National Cadet Corps (NCC). Her time in the NCC gave her an opportunity to experience military-style training and discipline. She was also involved in preparations for the Republic Day Parade.

According to reports, Ishita joined the defence forces as an Agniveer under the Agnipath scheme in 2023. Her decision was widely noticed because she comes from a film family, but she chose to follow her own dream instead of taking the usual path into the entertainment industry.

Ravi Kishan has spoken proudly about his daughter’s dedication on several occasions. In 2025, he revealed that Ishita was preparing for a career in the Army and also described her as a sniper shooter. His comments showed how proud he was of her decision to take up a challenging role in the defence sector.

Ishita was associated with the 7 Girls Battalion under the Delhi Directorate of the NCC. She also trained for the Republic Day Parade at Kartavya Path. Ravi Kishan had earlier shared glimpses of her training and her hard work with his followers.

Her journey has also received appreciation from people in the film industry. Actor Anupam Kher praised Ishita for choosing a life dedicated to service instead of following the more common Bollywood route. More recently, actor R Madhavan also shared a post about Ishita, bringing fresh attention to her inspiring journey.

Ravi Kishan and his wife Priti Shukla have four children, including one son and three daughters. While Ishita has chosen the defence field, her sister Rivva Kishan entered the entertainment industry. Rivva made her acting debut with the 2020 film Sab Kushal Mangal and later appeared on Prime Video’s reality show Alliance.
