Ravi Teja had been consistently delivering disasters at the ticket counters, and this has showed a big effect on his latest film BMW, which has struggled to bring audience to theatres despite decent reviews.

The film BMW Bhartha Mahasayulaku Wignyapthi has ended up as a clear box office failure, falling far short of its financial expectations. Made on a moderate budget, the movie reportedly needed a breakeven gross of around 30 to 32 crore worldwide to be considered safe. However, even after 12 days in theatres, the total worldwide collection is stuck at only 16 to 18 crore, making breakeven completely out of reach.

After an average opening, the film saw a sharp drop in collections due to poor word of mouth. Audiences were not impressed with the slow pacing, weak screenplay, and lack of engaging moments. As a result, footfalls declined rapidly after the first weekend. Weekday collections were extremely low, and several shows were cancelled in key centres.

The situation was no better overseas, where the film failed to attract Telugu audiences and could not build momentum. With new releases arriving and theatres reallocating screens, the film has very limited chances of recovery.

At this stage, trade experts agree that BMW will not come anywhere close to its breakeven target. The final share is expected to remain far below requirements, confirming the film’s status as a box office flop and a financial setback for the producers and distributors.

This is a dangerous territory for Ravi Teja as people are simply not prepared to watch his films in theatres, and the responsibility is on him to win this trust back again.
