Irumudi’s Century: Many Trying To Decode

While many filmmakers call their movies ‘cult’ and so on, here is one film that surpassed the status of such a kind and made it big. It is none other than “Irumudi” featuring senior hero Raviteja in the lead, and directed by Shiva Nirvana of Majili and Ninnu Kori fame. The film has collected more than ₹100 crores ‘share’ for the producers now, and that’s a talking point.

Many insiders, critics and even film enthusiasts are trying to decode what actually worked out for Irumudi in the first place. Coming with no dance numbers, glamour treats like Raviteja’s previous films and extraordinary punch lines and action sequences, the film did the unthinkable. Well, at a time when every film is being compared to Baahubali and KGF, surely if a film banks on ’simplicity’, it works. And that is what “Irumudi” is, as per some analysts.

Whatever it may be, with the gross collection of the film touching ₹180 crores already, the film is getting ready to get into the ₹200 crores gross club as well, while scoring a century in the ‘share’ club. Definitely, this is an achievement for Raviteja in the first place, and the 58-year-old actor must be very carefully treading his next steps from now on.
