Regina Shots Back At Bollywood’s Behaviour
Actress Regina Cassandra has reacted to the recent comments by Janhvi Kapoor and Radhika Apte about the Telugu film industry. She questioned the North-South divide and recalled that her name was dropped from the promotions of Kesari Chapter 2 without explanation. Regina also said Bollywood has better work organisation, but that does not make South cinema inferior.
By: Shanaz B Syed | 5 Nov 2026 1:30 PM ISTIn the wake of comments from Janhvi Kapoor that she shouldn’t have given consent to the director for filming her like that on the sets of Peddi, and then Radhika Apte saying that a Telugu film offered her only patriarchal roles, an anchor posed the question to Tamil siren Regina Cassandra to find out her reaction. Guess what, the way Regina highlighted another major issue is stunning.
Apparently, she said Regina finds it tough to accept a North Indian actor speaking about South cinema in a way that creates a North-South divide. She said the same Karan Johar, who felt sad about Janhvi’s Peddi episode, actually didn’t promote her. “During promotions of the film Kesari Chapter 2, my name was dropped from promotions without any explanation. They released a song featuring me, and didn’t even tag me on social media. Is this because I’m a South Indian actress? Should I call it that?” she shot back, explaining how the world will look if we create a North-South divide.
“If you’re feeling uncomfortable with anything, walk out of it; that’s the choice you have. After doing the film, don’t make such allegations. I don’t want to take sides, or the side of a woman, but actually, when there is a choice, you have to follow it. Neither Janhvi nor Radhika are in a place where they can’t walk out,” says Regina.
However, Regina stated that they have something to learn from Bollywood, like how organised they are in terms of having proper call sheets, timings, technician lists and all, but that doesn’t mean South is something bad.
