Tollywood Makers Completely Ignoring Republic Weekend!

Without a doubt, Sankranti is the biggest festive season for movie releases. It is quite common for many films to compete for the release dates. But many makers are ignoring the Republic weekend which is leaving everyone stunned. As we know, the 26th is a National Holiday and it is going to be a long weekend with good number of holidays. But only two films have locked the release dates for that weekend. While one film is 'Vyuham' which may not even release due to RGV's controversial taking, the other film is Nara Rohit's 'Pratinidhi 2'. We don't know how much of the shooting is completed as the team is not giving any updates.

Keeping them aside, there is a big Hindi film releasing on 25th February and it is Hrithik Roshan's 'Fighter'. Director Siddharth Anand is keen on scoring another hit on the same day when he released 'Pathaan' last year. The other film is 'Laal Salam' in which Rajnikanth played a special role. Due to the success of 'Jailer', the movie is getting good deals and there is another dubbing film that stars Mohanlal in the lead.

Vikram's 'Thangalan' was supposed to release but got delayed. Sources claim that it was postponed because of screenings at Film Festivals. If 'Captain Miller' doesn't arrive on 19th Jan, it may release during the Republic weekend. It looks like the dubbing films are going to take over the Republic weekend and there are no notable Telugu releases. Many are suggesting that the makers should release some films during this weekend too instead of focusing only on the Sankranti season.
